Due to recent events I wanted to wrote about my next article on Training Be prepared. This is in part of with the 2 injured and 1 death that was related to the event – We all know which way I lay and I know the truth and strong will prosper but this is more of a gun blog and not a political blog.
Being Prepared for any situation can be challenging but with training you can Be prepared.
Lets take a look at some areas to be prepared.
Firearms and tactical – Get firearm training to perform the best, this including going to the range, unholstering and rebolstering. Learning how to move with your firearm, training in different position such as prowl, kneeling, from behind cover.
I also tend to carry a knife everywhere I go including beach, golf, its like my watch if I am not wearing it my day is messed up.
Become a higher degree in a discipline such as Ji-jitsu or karate… I tend to like Gracie but there are other forms you can perform or other disciplines like Judo. Becoming a weapon in a sense will always be a form of being prepared but you are going to have to use your best judgement on when to use it and when to hide. But Its always Better to have and not need then need and not have.
If you are a people watcher like me, then you can understand that I am always watching who is close to me, in the distance and behind me. It’s something natural to me to look at people. I also am the same way in the car, I see who it close to me, in the distance and behind me. I use to be a cop and still watch for cops when driving – I do not want a ticket.
While driving to the beach yesterday we encountered traffic on the freeway both lanes were backed up and car after car was following each other. A car in the slow lane went to move into the fast lane but a car was beside them and they was not paying attention and the car in the fast lane ended up swerving to the side of the road hitting the grass loosing control, coming back onto the road whipping the van around and sliding on to the slow lane, recovering coming back across both lanes drifting and back again and ended up down and embankment near the woods on the slow lane side of the road. Honestly it was impressive driving and we stopped to make sure everyone was ok. They ended up driving up out of the woods with very little effort and were fine. The other car that make the whole action start took off and left. It shows that you are the person taking care of yourself and need to watch everyone.
You could also risk access each outing you take to see what you think are more dangerous situations and avoid those. I tend to hate big crowds, large gathering, over packed area. Near were I live a month ago there are many city squares that people hang out in and enjoy the breezes and trees that offer shade in a vibrant city. But when bad people take hold of the area, bad things happened and there were shootings 1 street over from a very popular touristy street. The police can only do so much so quick and I am talking from experience that only 1-2-3 max things can be controlled at once by and officer. It happened mid-afternoon in the day time and 7 people were injured. It wasn’t crowded, there was not an event but someone filled with hatred was more then likely taking aim at 1 or a small group and people were caught.
