RemArms 2023 the oldest gun manufacturer in the United States has decided that the political warfare and bias views from New York is not good for business. The have picked a spot I think in 2018-2019 in the Southeast of the United States.
The area they have chosen is home to a few Gun makers already Daniel Defense and HK are to name a few top few but there is a whole list of Pro-gun companies already in the State. (link) This shows that the home state of yours truly is mostly Pro-Gun. Your right to think of it as a welcoming party for Remington and RemArms to join the host of others that already call Georgia home.
Depending on the area, land is cheap, plenty of people that are skilled labor in the work force. Its a great move for Georgia to snag another company – The Port is not far away in Savannah, Amazon is is huge in Georgia. Hyundai is building in Rural area of Savannah.
LaGrange is where RemArms is moving to which is on the north west side of Atlanta. Also home to LaGrange College. Being outside of Atlanta is gives that area more reasons to expand and new people to move into the area. Which is what I hope some of the 300 employees that currently building the firearms in New York will see and move down to continue building Remington firearms.
Coming out of he bankruptcy in 2020-2021 and starting operations again was great for them although RemArms did have to retire/layoff a high margin of work force and keep right around 200-300 of the employees it once had which was in the 2000 persons range.
